"The warrant is all."
In the Quad, a distant star system, bounty hunters known as Killjoys chase warrants. Dutch (Hannah John-Kamen) is the leader—mysterious, deadly, with a past she can't escape. Her partners are John (Aaron Ashmore), the tech guy, and D'avin (Luke Macfarlane), the soldier with secrets.
What starts as a fun sci-fi procedural evolves into something larger: a conspiracy involving an evil corporation, a mysterious green substance, and Dutch's own origins. The world-building is impressive—a class-stratified society with its own rules, its own politics, its own mythology.
The show is Canadian sci-fi at its best: character-driven, genuinely funny, with action that serves the story rather than replacing it. Hannah John-Kamen is a star, and the ensemble chemistry is undeniable.
Narrative Drive (8.5): Five seasons, one complete story. The pacing never lets up.
World Building (8): The Quad is a fully realized society with history, politics, and culture.
Resolution (7.5): The ending is satisfying. The show knew when to stop.
